Laser Spine Institute

Schaeffer Electric recently completed the Laser Spine Institute?in Creve Coeur, Missouri. ?This fast paced project was performed?in partnership with Precise Construction. ?With the goal of renovating an existing 30,000?square foot space from an existing medical office to a surgical center in 6?months,?close coordination and teamwork were imperative. ?By the completion of the project, 3 operating room?suites, 28 PACU/exam rooms, an MRI, and a Radiology room?were ready for use, not to mention the required offices, waiting rooms, and lounge. ?From an electrical point of view, the project consisted of completely new lighting, receptacles, fire alarm, normal power distribution, nurse call, voice/data and an emergency distribution system that consisted of 7 transfer switches and a 500 KW generator . ?Congratulations to the entire team for a successful project and to the?Laser Spine Institute?on their beautifully renovated building.

Mercy – Main Pharmacy Relocation

Schaeffer Electric recently completed the new Main Pharmacy for the Mercy St. John’s Health Care Facility in Creve Coeur. ?This complex project included several challenging aspects:

  • State of the art Pharmacy Robotics Distribution System
  • Omni-Cell Carousel
  • Special Clean Room and Hood Provisions

This project was completed on schedule with McCarthy?general contractors.

Mercy – Boardroom

Schaeffer Electric recently completed the state of the art Boardroom/Crisis Command Center for the main Mercy St. John’s Health Care Facility in Creve Coeur. ?The Boardroom features state of the art Conferencing, Audio/Visual Systems and an adjacent Serving and Food Prep area. ?In addition, the entire project is completely functional during a power outage.

Friendship Village – Fire Alarm Upgrade

A complete gut and upgrade of the present fire alarm system to a new UUFX fire alarm system. Two hundred thousand feet of cabling and 3700 devices went into the new system.

BJC HealthCare – New Learning Institute

Schaeffer Electric Co. Completes 83,000 SF Electrical and Audio-Visual Design/Build Project for?BJC HealthCare’s New Learning Institute?Healthcare Projects Generate $4.5 Million in 2008 Revenue for St. Louis Firm

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis-based Schaeffer Electric Co., Inc. recently completed a design/build?assignment for BJC HealthCare at the new BJC Learning Institute in Brentwood, Mo. Schaeffer’s?work spanned four floors of professional development and training space in the fourth building to be?constructed at The Meridian at Brentwood, which is being developed by DCM Development Co. at?the intersection of Hanley Road and Highway 40/I-64.

In a combined 83,000 square feet, Schaeffer installed wiring, conduit, lighting fixtures and audiovisual (AV) equipment in 27 rooms and in a 220-seat auditorium.

Additionally, Schaeffer’s data and communication division installed six flat-panel televisions, 28?projectors and 28 projection screens. The AV project alone called for more than 20,000 feet of AV cable.

The 170,000-square-foot, seven-story mixed-use tower was designed by ACI/Boland and built by
Musick Construction Co. HOK is serving as interior designer for the BJC space.

The institute coordinates and connects the multitude of educational classes and programs offered?by BJC HealthCare, its hospitals and departments. It focuses on five learning tracks: management skills,?process improvement, leadership development, clinical professional skills and career development.
